How Does the Order Helper Work?

Using the Order Helper at the register to pull Manage Comics orders into the POS cart. Applies to: Ordo only.

The Order Helper pulls a customer's existing Manage Comics orders into the Shopify POS cart, with the right products, quantities, and discounts already applied. It saves you from looking up each customer's orders and re-entering line items.

How to use the Order Helper at the register

  1. Tap the Manage Comics Order Helper tile on your POS home screen. (See the Order Helper Tool article for setup.)

  2. Search for the customer by name, or pick one of the open orders shown.

  3. Choose the products you want to add to the cart, either the whole order or a subset.

  4. Manage Comics drops the chosen products into the POS cart at the right quantities and applies any discounts the customer has earned.

  5. Add any other in-store items the customer is buying.

  6. Check out as normal in Shopify POS.

What the Order Helper manages for you

  • Quantities. The pulled quantity per product comes from Manage Comics.

  • Discounts. Subscriber discounts come along automatically.

  • Inventory. Items move from Manage Comics' "reserved subscription copies" pool into the cart so inventory reconciles cleanly when the sale closes.

Removing items from the cart

If a customer changes their mind, deleting an item from the cart sends it back to their open Manage Comics order rather than dropping it. They can pick up that item next time.
